The MEIVEDA AYURVEDA BEACH RESORT opened in 2014. This sprawling complex (16,000sqm), is located on the kilometer-long shallow Chavakkadu beach. ACCOMMODATION

Meiveda was deliberately designed with only a few guest rooms, spread over a 16,000 m² palm garden, which touches directly the sea. The building structure are not only appealing, but also ecologically sustainable. Built in the traditional style of Kerala architecture, they blend in wonderfully with the exotic surroundings.

The rooms are spacious, with comfortable bedrooms, separate bathrooms, and large terraces or balconies. They are equipped as standard with Twin beds which can be pushed together if necessary; Ceiling fan, seating corner, telephone and small fridge. Some rooms also have adjustable air conditioning.

You can choose among the following buildings or room categories:

TWIN-COTTAGES (4 x 2 rooms each):

These are sea facing double cottages, each with 2 adjoining units and each have a beautiful terrace with loungers.
 Can be booked with air-conditioned, with extra charge.
Apartment size: about 32 square meters, plus sun terrace: about 9 square meters

QUAD-COTTAGES (2 units x 4 rooms each):

These units have 4 cottages each houses each with beautiful sea views.
On the upper floor you have a balcony, on the ground floor a terrace.

KERALA PALACE (4 rooms):

The traditional heritage wooden house has four large air-conditioned apartments with separate living and sleeping areas and spacious bathrooms.
On the upper floor you have a balcony, on the ground floor terraces.

THERAPY CENTER

Based on the low number of guests of the MEIVEDA Resort, the number of 10 treatment rooms with steam bath, herbal bath, etc. is above average. This alone is evidence of the seriousness with which the Ayurveda treatments are carried out here.
The Ayurvedic medicines and oils are purchased exclusively from certified factories or made at site, using herbs from Meiveda`s own organic garden. Meiveda has two experienced doctors (male / female) and approximately 13 therapists. Women are treated by women, men by men, as it is the usual practice in Kerala.

AYURVEDA TREATMENTS

The Ayurveda program provides for a classical rejuvenation / purification treatment in Meiveda, based on the elements of the classic Panchakarma treatment. The daily treatment duration takes about 2 hours.
The focus of the cure for each guest is determined, after the comprehensive initial diagnosis of the doctor. The course of the treatment is checked daily by the doctor and adjusted if necessary.

The course of treatment and the nutritional recommendation are individually tailored to you, after determining your body consitution.

YOGA & MEDITATION

Depending on weather conditions the group lessons take place in the morning under professional guidance, either in the yoga pavilion or in the weather on the beach. The level of your knowledge is irrelevant, as teachers adapt to it and also offer different courses.
For meditation you meet in the evening and let the day fade away pleasantly relaxed.

RESTAURANT

Ayurveda guests receive dosha-compliant, ayurvedic vegetarian full board in the form of a buffet. Herbal teas and juices are included. Only after consultation with the doctor possibly also fish dishes are served. Vegetables and fruits are mostly from Meiveda`s organic own garden.

Accompanying guests can also enjoy local Indian and European dishes in the multi-cuisine restaurant.

LEISURE / SPORTS

Meiveda is located in a rural, quiet area. In order to get to know the country and its people during the stay, the resort offers spa guests free excursions to the famous elephant camp and temple in Guruvayoor, as well as to the nearby town of Chavakkad.

 During the season, the resort hosts cultural events featuring traditional South Indian music and dances with sumptuous, colorful costumes.

ENTERTAINMENT & EXCURSIONS

The reception can provide suggestions for excursions, such as the Athirapilly waterfalls, boat trips in the backwaters lagoons, a visit to Sakthan Palace and the Performing Arts School in Thrissur, shopping in Chavakkad or Thrissur.

 The highlight of the year is the Thrissur Pooram Festival. The elephant festival takes place every year in the Hindu month Medam (mid-April to mid-May) in Thrissur. This festival surpasses all other festivals in size, splendor and number of elephants.

LOCATION

Meiveda is located in the southern Indian state of Kerala, north of Cochin. The next larger towns Chavakkad and Guruvayoor can be reached in about 20 minutes.
The transfer time from Intl. Cochin Airport (85 km) is approximately 2 hours, and Calicut Airport is approximately 70 km.
