ACCOMMODATION

The 64 rooms of a comfortable size and with comfortable furnishings have either a balcony or terrace, as well as partial or full view of the Indian Ocean. They are categorised amongst the lush green garden location on the main building and the side wings. Single rooms are double rooms for single use. Standard amenities include individually controlled Air Conditioning, ceiling fan, locker, hair dryer , bathrobe, telephone. In the suites and Deluxe corner rooms there is a refrigerator available (on request) and television as standard.

These rooms have larger oversize beds, extra chairs, and a television. Refrigerator is available on request.

Location: ground floor or upper floor (for a surcharge).
These rooms on upper floor are with larger balconies with beautiful ocean view, hence the supplement.

SUITES

07 Suites (~ 61 sqm) on the 2nd floor .
They are very spacious and feature a separate living area and two balconies each, large oversize beds, extra chairs, television, – refrigerator on request.

All Suites are on the second floor of the building offering a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean.

THERAPY CENTER

The Ayurveda Therapy Center comprises 28 comfortable treatment rooms. Most treatment rooms have a shower and toilet attached to it, 12 treatment rooms are used for herbal baths.

Also there is a central relaxing place around the Lotus pond, where one can relax before or after the treatments on the sunbeds.

AYURVEDA TREATMENTS

Under the medical supervision of the chief physician the authentic cures are carried out by welltrained specialist staff. A team of Ayurvedic specialists manages the treatment center who, among other things, work professionally, also do acupuncture. A doctor on call is always available at the Resort.

A guest care executive is available all year round for all translation work (selected languages) in the medical field as well as for other questions relating to your stay.

After a comprehensive initial examination, the personal Dosha type of the Ayurveda guest is determined, to which the nutritional recommendation and treatment plan are individually adjusted. To start with, you will receive a “Pada Avagahanaya”, a foot bath in oil with massage, to make you relax. The treatment plan is checked daily by the doctors under their supervision executed out by specialist therapists. Treatment plans and times are given to all guests the day before. The minimum stay should be 1 week (trial course), however, for a better effect it is recommended to plan a course duration of minimum 2 weeks. If you have previous illnesses, it is recommended for to definitely take 3 – 4 weeks for your health.

All oils and medicines used in the resort are free of metals and are 100% natural products. They are manufactured by renowned companies in Sri Lanka under the strict supervision and control of experts.

In the course of the “Ayubowan” Ayurveda cure (Panchakarma) you can choose your focus. Then the Heritance Ayurveda Maha Gedera offers 3 Ayurveda packages to choose from:

• Stress management (from 14 days)
• Weight Management (from 14 to 21 days)
• Rejuvenation & relaxation (from 7 days)

Around 4-5 treatments are carried out daily.

YOGA & MEDITATION

round off the Ayurveda Package and are of course included in the price to underline the Ayurveda philosophy of life of the whole body, soul and mind. Group yoga classes take place every morning 6 times a week and 5 times in evenings  every week (i.e. total of 11 sessions per week). Meditation is offered twice a week.

Double Room = with 2 persons in a double room; Single Room = for 1 person in a single room (or in a double room for single use)

• 5% early bird discount will be deducted from all prices above for bookings made more than 90 days before departure
• 5% repeater discount from the 3rd / 4th Return (does not apply to the summer special)
• 7.5% repeater discount from the 5th return (does not apply to the summer special)
• 5% long-term discount: for 21 – 27 days cure and 10% discount for 28 days cure and longer (the discounts are already included in the price list above)
• The discounts cannot be combined (except early bird discount). In the event of an overlap, the higher discount counts.
• Extra bonus: free cancellation up to 2 days before arrival!

The Ayurveda package prices do NOT include:

RESTAURANT

As in Ayurveda philosophy you are what you eat, so your diet is of immense importance.

As a spa guest, you can enjoy tasty, healthy meals in the spacious, open restaurant with a view of the pool and garden, which are prepared according to your dietplan, according to Ayurvedic tradition, the dishes are carefully tailored to the individual Dosha types and the preparation is carried out under the supervision of Ayurveda doctors. The restaurant offers both buffets and menus. All buffet dishes are labeled and show which dishes are suitable for which dosha. The doctors will guide you to choose what is best for you. Accompanying Guests and families who are not in treatment can eat what they want.

There is warm water offered along with meals, we advise you to drink at least two liters a day. Herbal teas are also available free of charge during the day (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.), or you can order fresh juices from the juice bar. This also includes exotic fruits that may be new to you, but also more well-known ones such as melon, papaya and mango.

The Heritance Maha Gedara is a pure Ayurveda hotel, so smoking and alcohol consumption are not permitted inside the complex.

LEISURE & ENTERTAINMENT

The spacious garden with swimming pool, relaxation areas and sitting areas invites you to relax. So that the cure does not become monotonous, entertainment is also provided:

• Once a week you have the opportunity to watch the Ayurveda chefs over the shoulder and take suggestions for everyday life during a cooking demonstration.
• Specialist speakers or the doctors give weekly lectures on the science of Ayurvedic teaching.
• There is a varied evening program several times a week. with traditional, traditional folk dances and musical performances.

To get maximum benefit from your treatment program, we recommend that you do not miss any medication or applications. You will get daily treatments, but they usually take place either in the morning or in the afternoon, so you can also take half-day trips if you wish.

EXCURSIONS

Interesting are the Buddhist temple Kande Viharaya (2 km), the Monday market in Aluthgama (2 km), the turtle farm in Kosgoda (8 km), the Kalutara Bodhyia temple (15 km); the moonstone mine in Meetiyagoda (32 km), a river trip on the Madhu Ganga, a trip to the historic city of Galle (25 km).
There is something going on daily in the arts and crafts center within the hotel area. You can watch the craftsmen or try yourself.

LOCATION

The Heritance Ayurveda Maha Gedara is located in Moragalla / Beruwela, on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, on the kilometer-long beach of Beruwela.
It is around 90 km to Colombo Airport (approx. 2 hours’ drive) and Colombo City is around 60 km (approx. 2 hours). After Beruwela it is about 3km (5min drive).

CLIMATE / BEST TIME TO TRAVEL

The weather on the tropical island of Sri Lanka is determined by the monsoon (SW and NE monsoon). The best time to travel to the SW coast is from October to April. The low-rainfall period from late January to mid-April is ideal for the entire island.

The sun is usually abundant the whole year, but there are a few cooling rain showers late in the afternoon and at night between June and September
The monsoon season is actually the ideal time for Ayurveda spa guests. A time when nature regenerates and recharges itself. A time of rest and reflection with less tourism and cheap offers.
