Welcome to the Heritage Resort ISOLA DI COCCO located on the southwestern tip of India, in the state of Kerala. The Resort surrounded by water, this beautiful resort is embedded in coconut palm groves where the romantic lagoons of the Poovar River meet the Arabian Sea.
National Geographic Traveler Magazine voted ISOLA DI COCCO among the world’s best 50 “places to see”. The exclusive resort consists of secluded existing groups of houses. These are built in the charming, traditional Kerala style and offer stunning views of the Lakelands and the Arabian Sea.

The resort is located just off the mouth of the backwaters in the Arabian Sea, about 32 km (45 min drive) from Trivandrum Airport, about 15 km south of the popular beaches of Kovalam. The Poovar River here forms a turquoise coloured, palm-lined lagoon, which you can cross with inhouse offered boats free of charge to get to the beautiful upstream sandy beach. Bathing in the sea is well possible during the winter months.

In 2018 Isola Di Cocco Ayurtheeram Resort obtained the ISO 9001: 2015 certificate. Thus, the resort meets the very high quality requirements, which are needed for high-quality traditional Ayurveda treatments.

ACCOMMODATION

In 2018 Isola Di Cocco has set up the KERALA AYURTHEERAM by Isola di Cocco so that spa guests can relax in peace. This separate AYURVEDA VILLAGE sits on a peninsula on the sprawling grounds of Isola Di Cocco, yet within easy reach of all the facilities of the main Resort. Quiet and secluded from the normal holiday guests of the main resort Ayurveda guests stay here in the AYURTHEERAM in the new, comfortably furnished rooms. The Ayurveda kitchen, the yoga center and the pool are reserved here only for spa guests. WiFi internet is available throughout the village for free.

(Note: Depending on your taste, Ayurveda guests can also book a HERITAGE VILLA in the main complex as an alternative to the apartments in the Ayurveda Village)

AYUR DELUXE ROOM (8) approx. 23qm or

All rooms are bright and modern with own bathroom / shower / WC, individually regulated air conditioning, ceiling fan, safe, LCD TV, telephone, refrigerator, coffee and tea making facilities. The slightly more expensive suites also have a verandah and separate living room area.Please indicate at the time of booking whether you want to stay on the ground floor with terrace and garden access, or you prefer on the 1st floor with balcony and sea view.

HERITAGE-VILLAS (10) approx. 23qm:

If you prefer the traditional Kerala style house, you can stay in one of the HERITAGE VILLAS. These are historical Tharavadu-Woodhouses in the main complex, dismanteled at the original remote villages in Kerala and rebuilt here. All rooms have a furnished veranda with a nice view. They are “un-Ayurvedic”, but highly comfortable with air conditioning, fan, satellite TV, telephone, mini bar, tea / coffee making facilities, double or king-size beds.

THERAPY CENTER

BELA – the in-house Ayurveda center has been awarded the “GREEN LEAF AWARD” by the “Department of Tourism Government of Kerala”, the highest recognition for authentically applied Ayurveda. Altogether in the Ayurveda center 3 physician doctors (M/F) and about 25 therapists (M/F) endeavor for your health. The medical director here is SANKARAN NAIR BAM, MD, a well-known Ayurvedic specialist and former director of the state-run Ayurveda College in Trivandrum. The daily consultations are conducted by his right hand Dr. Kumar, also an experienced Ayurveda specialist. In addition, guests have access to a team of qualified and experienced therapists. The high quality of the spa treatments is proven by the fact that the resort received the ISO 9001: 2015 certificate in 2018.

YOGA

In addition to the treatments, 1 hour yoga classes are offered every morning and, if desired, meditation too. As always, participation in these courses is of course voluntary. The level of your previous knowledge does not matter, since the teachers adapt the lessons to the Ayurveda guests.

In the exclusive Ayurveda restaurant of the Ayurveda Village, tasty dishes are prepared for the spa guests according to the doctor’s recommendation. In the main complex, the sea-view poolside restaurant offers local and international cusines (Indian, Thai, European and Chinese). Furthermore, the coffee shop, located on the banks of the river, overlooking the sea, offers a variety of coffees and snacks.

LEISURE / SPORTS

The sea is “just a stone’s throw” away and a boat shuttle will take you over the lagoon, over to the long sandy beach. Ayurveda guests can take beach walks and, if medically permitted, swim in the sea, in the pool, in the river or relax in the jacuzzi. Companions can choose from a variety of sports activities, such as volleyball, badminton, para-sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, diving lessons, deep sea fishing etc.

ENTERTAINMENT / EXCURSIONS

From the hotel you can directly reach the fascinating world of the backwater lagoons, for boat trips (2-3 hours) through the canals and for houseboat tours. A small boat excursion is included with 14 days package.
Car trips to the surrounding area are also organized, for example to Padmanabhapuram Palace or a day trip to Cap Comorin.
You can go sightseeing or shopping in Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala, or visit cultural events. There are also a number of small shops around the hotel. During the season cultural folklore events are organised in the evening.
