DUKE’S FOREST LODGE – the partner resort of Nikki’s Nest, is located more than 900m high amidst the lush nature of the South Indian rainforest, 48km from Trivandrum Airport.
 The lavish Lodge was built in 2002 with exemplary ecological materials. It is located on the edge of a rubber plantation and the foothills of the Peppara Wildlife Conservation Park, on the shores of the crystal clear Kallar River.
 In addition to the tall rubber trees, exotic plants and many species of butterflies, cocoa and coffee bushes, banana trees, bamboo, spices and much more nature thrives here. 
In addition to Ayurveda guests few nature and trekking friends, as well as peace seekers spend their holidays here. Enjoy your Ayurvedic treatment at this resort in an atmosphere which is in absolute harmony with nature!

ACCOMMODATION

The ecological resort has only 10 units in 2 categories:

STANDARD ROOM

Since the focus is on Ayurveda and nature in Dukes Forest Lodge, luxury furnishings are not provided, but nevertheless the rooms are comfortable and well equipped.
 You can choose from a stand-alone cottage near the pool or among the 4 rooms located near the Ayurveda center in the former planters house of the plantation. You have about 10 minutes sidewalk to the restaurant.

PRIVATE POOL VILLAS

Absolutely recommendable and affordable here are the beautiful pool villas, which were built on pillars. The spacious upstairs bedroom features an elegant, mostly Kerala style wooden furniture, fan, telephone, coffee / tea maker and bathroom with all modern amenities. The attractively furnished veranda offers a wonderful view of the surrounding, lush nature.
 A spiral staircase leads from the veranda down to the private pool area with little jacuzzi. The attached bamboo blinds ensure the privacy.
 According the Ayurvedic sense, intentionally no air conditioning has been provided here as through the ecological materials used for construction a natural ventilation pleasant temperatures are maintained.

The complex has only a few rooms and is occupied with few guests in the off-season. As a result, everything here is very familiar and close to nature.

If you appreciate nature and tranquility and can also deal with yourself, this is the place for you. Where else can you enjoy a bewitching concert of birds and wild animals of the rainforest on your terrace or in the hammock every evening.

THERAPY CENTER

The Ayurvedic treatments are conducted in collaboration with the Nikki’s Nest medical team. In coordination with the local doctors, a spa combination of the two houses during the stay is possible. You do not have to interrupt your therapy as both resorts coordinate the treatments.

For the execution of the authentic Ayurvedic treatments, Duke’s Forest Lodge has a friendly, competent team of doctors and therapists (m/f).

AYURVEDA TREATMENTS

The basic program provides either a REVITALIZATION package or a classic BODY CLEANING package (Panchakarma).

Treatment focuses are defined with the doctors consultation, depending upon your body constitution, such as relief of joint pain, skin problems, gynecological problems, migraine, stress, obesity, etc.

After a comprehensive initial examination, an individual treatment and nutrition plan for each guest is worked out. The treatments can be combined between Dukes Forest Lodge and Nikki’s Nest.

YOGA & MEDITATION

are offered daily and are part of every package.

The level of your knowledge does not matter because you can discuss this individually with the teacher.

 The doctor consultations take place in English. On request, a language speaking interpretor and translator can be arranged (subject to availability) – please register in advance when booking.

The spacious, beautifully decorated restaurant in the form of an ancient Kerala house, offers a magnificent view of the beautiful landscape and the crystal clear Kallar River.
 The exquisite ayurvedic-vegetarian cuisine is served, as well as savory South Indian and international dishes. Vegetables and fruits are harvested fresh every day on the extensive organic plantation.

During the high season, Dukes Forest Lodge also offers in-house cultural programmes featuring classical Indian music and dances.

Places of interest around the area include: Ponmudi (915m), a hill station 18km away; Peppara Wildlife National Park with rich flora and fauna; Agasthyar Park (1,890m), with abundant nature and bird life, medicinal plants and spices, orchids, bonsai trees; Bonakkad with tea plantations, orchid collections and the Bono waterfalls. Neyyar wildlife park with crocodile farm, lion safari park, boat ride on the reservoir, rare plants, many medicinal plants and beautiful hiking and trekking trails.

LOCATION

South West India, in Kerala state, 48km from Trivandrum Airport, 50km / 1h driving time from the popular seaside beach Kovalam. The resort is located between Trivandrum and the hill station Ponmundi (18km).

The transfer from the airport (about 60-80min.) or from Nikki’s Nest is a beautiful experience due to the picturesque landscape! Short, heavy rain showers now and then are usual here. But the following sun brings nature all the more lusciously to the shine.
